'Blowing Bubbles'...03/30/2011... Getting a tiny bit closer to where I would like to be...had about 30-40 minutes yesterday to roam about the yard...found this and a few other things...
"The River Flows" On my way home from an appt. today I stopped at one of my favorite fishing spots on the Rockaway River in my town to grab this capture. Too bad I didn't have a set of waders in my car to get the little water fall that is located just below this scene but I have to be UNDER the bridge I was on in order to get it in the frame LOL. So you'll have to settle for this one. I love the little water flow control house that is dilapidated here, it adds a nice rigid feel to the scene. I've watched the roof continue to collapse over the years and soon it will just fall in completely. This is one of the best trout spots around here and they stock the river just upstream weekly during trout season from the farm with tags on them so you know if you caught a wild or farm bread fish. The mountain you see in the background is part of the Picatinny Arsenal where they develop & test new weapons for the military. Anyway, it was an overcast day here as you can see and it really brought some nice contrast into the picture that I liked. I had to make slight levels adjustments to bring the clouds out a bit more and then some selective dodging & burning to the shadow areas but not much more to this one. Oh and a slight filter applied to bring the colors up a bit since it was so dark here. 10 min. of work and it was finished. So I hope you enjoy this next addition to my fall colors month - I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and get out there to enjoy the crisp clean fall air ;) ALTERNATE VERSION: You can see a second version in SEPIA of this image in my EXTRAS Gallery BY CLICKING HERE Best Regards, ~Bill~

2-02: This is another from Saturday's sunset. Several people have asked if the colors are real (natural) in yesterday's. It was taken as three bracketed exposures but only at -1, 0 and 1. Then combined in Photomatix. Then final processing in Capture NX2 (mostly brightness and focus adjustments) I didn't change any colors. I did actually have to desaturate a little because the orange and reds tend to be over saturated sometimes. I used the same processing on today's post. This one was actually taken a few minutes before the one I posted yesterday, so the clouds are more orange than red or pink
2-12: Back after being very sick for almost a week. Wednesday morning I finally felt good enough to get up and take some pictures. This was taken a few minutes before sunrise on the Collindale golf course.
Alau Island Isolation Alau Island is a bird sanctuary just south of Hana. Koki beach is the nearest location on Maui to view this mysterious island. The wave patterns on the sand and dark clouds show the darker side of Hawaii.
Padre Canyon is one of the most beautiful locations inside Snow Canyon State Park. A beautiful waterfall formed during a heavy downpour.
08OCT2012 Milling Around Dell's Mill aka Clark's Mill with some Fall foliage all lit up in the morning sun......Great place, scenic area with lots of barns to shoot as well. Image won First Place in the "Travel Category" n4c.us in October 2012, submitted through the Omaha Camera Club. Comments are welcome, lots of Wisconsin images to upload....have a great day! Dan, sorry we didn't know you lived there....great area.
Raccoon Stepping Forward Light snow was falling as this raccoon crossed my path. You can see some snow on his back.

Lupine Dusk Lupine purple wildflowers beside a mountain stream just after sunset when the clouds lit up the sky in profuse color!
Grey Mud Pool marks the end of Rainbow Slot Canyon in southwestern Utah. During the heat of the day, this spooky place stayed cool and quiet.
Hahalawe Falls, Maui I read this was also called "Photo Falls" and when I scouted it out online before coming I could only find very bad photos of it. I even mentally put it on the "not worth a stop" list. When I saw it driving to Oheo Gulch, I knew it had great potential. When driving by, the waterfall was half in sun and half in shade. Bad timing. Fortunately I was returning this way the next day and visited earlier in the morning. Conditions were right and I hope my photo does justice to this beautiful waterfall.
Foggy Path, September 18, 2011 Photo Taken in the Craggy Gardens, in the Blue Ridge mountains of NC. (Between Mt. Mitchell and Asheville). Elevation approx. 5,500. This Trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and can be accessed from the Blue Ridge parkway. This path does have a kind of spooky quality about it with its tunnels of Rhododendrons and thick jagged brush. Fog really adds to the effect. Thanks so much for the very generous comments from so many great photographers here on Smugmug Jeff Graham
