July 24, 2014 "Yellow Water Lily:" in our pond.
7/25/14 - A kaleidoscope created from an image of a double gloriosa daisy. I've been working on a series of these images I've titled "Nature's Kaleidoscopes". Each is created from an image that shows various things in nature. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the ultiimate alphabet! Yep, they really did cost $150 each; they were made of ceramic. I did not see anyone buying any of them when I was there. They were designed to be mounted on a wall and one assumes that someone would buy one or a few of them and make a small wall arrangement with them. Most of the art at the Cherry Creek Art Festival is pretty expensive; these were actually reasonable compared with most of the other art on display. It is one of the premier art festivals in the country. It is juried and artists have told me that it is difficult to get in, but it is a show where there is the potential for lots of sales. The artists come from all over the country.
Thursday, July 24, 2014 "FANCY FREE" "Before the truth can set you free, you need to recognize which lie is holding you hostage." ~ Unknown Author SOOC, uncropped, flash didn't fire And yet, here's another flirty and whimsical flower. It was photographed in the front yard of the same residence as the previous two flower photos I've posted. I have wonderful neighbors, and not just because they allow me to take photos of whatever I deem photo op worthy in their respective yards:). NOTE: 7:24 AM update - I see that my previous post of the "Antique Chevy" (Sunday, May 15, 2011) is reappearing today in the DPC. I wish whomever thumbed it would post a comment; but, I am not sweating the small stuff. Free yourself and hang in there; tomorrow is Friday! Hosta Posted July 23, 2014 Another from the Devonian Gardens near Edmonton.
Mother Nature's Graffiti August 2008 This shot is from the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument on a place simply called "Yellow Rock". I walked all over the top of this great location and found this pattern in the stone just as the sun was going down and lit up the clouds and distant cliffs. It is my favorite shot from Yellow Rock.

8.14.13: The Chugach Mountains ring Anchorage to the east and south and this is the view from my office at sunset. I must admit not a bad view any day of the week.
Grumman F6F Hellcat Fighter aircraft... The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft conceived to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy service. The Hellcat was an erstwhile rival of the faster Vought F4U Corsair for use as a carrier based fighter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F6F_Hellcat I'm not positive on the ID of this plane. If anyone recognizes it as something else, please advise. Thanks... Planes of Fame Air Show, May 3-4, 2014 Chino Airport Chino, CA http://planesoffame.org/
