I waited for 6 months for the sun to go down in the midle of the road. Fortunately it did not rain that day. I brought a boy with me to wave good night to the sun. Suddenly I saw the birds comming from the left, and got them in "the decive moment".
Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs has fantastic views, throw in a thunder storm and things get real interesting. Sharp eyed viewers will spot a climber on one of the formations.

Day 132 - The morning sun strikes rock formations in the Grand Canyon, as seen from the North Rim in Arizona; detail in this image is best viewed in a larger size. This shot of the Grand Canyon is one I recently rediscovered in my archives from the early fall and reprocessed. I used a number of different effects, including Topaz Adjust, Color EFEX Pro, and some regular Photoshop filter and blending effects. If you view the large size, you will really see some detail! I'm going to post this and go to bed. I hope you all have a really nice day! It is supposed to be quite warm here today. It got up to 65 degrees in Colorado Springs today, not a good day to sleep away. Oh. well. Oh, if some of you should like to look at the other North Rim Grand Canyon shots, they are here: http://fotoeffects.smugmug.com/gallery/6698528_KNq6d#476011624_efKkk.
2-02: This is another from Saturday's sunset. Several people have asked if the colors are real (natural) in yesterday's. It was taken as three bracketed exposures but only at -1, 0 and 1. Then combined in Photomatix. Then final processing in Capture NX2 (mostly brightness and focus adjustments) I didn't change any colors. I did actually have to desaturate a little because the orange and reds tend to be over saturated sometimes. I used the same processing on today's post. This one was actually taken a few minutes before the one I posted yesterday, so the clouds are more orange than red or pink
1-16: Thursday morning we woke up to thick fog again. It lasted till about noon. I was able to go out on my lunch break and take some shots along the river right after the fog lifted. The fog had frozen to the tree branches and bushes. I was able to get some shots before it all melted.

9.2.09 - Snow and Rain We woke up to fresh snow again this morning, and although it was cold it was quite a pleasant day. That is, until I decided to go out and get a Daily. I had hoped to take some night snow shots around the Cathedral, but it was raining heavily! The last time I took some photos here I got a ghostly biker zooming through the shot, tonight it was a bedraggled walker. Apart from a crop to get rid of boring foreground this is straight out of camera. Despite me standing over it with an umbrella some rain managed to get on the lens, but I think it adds to the watery scene (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). For those that like to keep an eye on our Monday Challenges mine is here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/gallery/7093288_hSxt4#470456288_tRiRP
Daily Post 1169 - 135/365 5/15/2014 - Raul Malo from House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ last April… This gallery has taken me the very longest to get through…still a bunch to discard, but slowly, slowly I'm working my way through. The lighting was just awful..deep shadows from lights directly overhead..very frustrating. However, tomorrow night we will see The Mavericks perform at The Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA and their lighting is better. We can't wait to see them again. Thank you to those of you who commented so nicely on my photos of Michael Ronstadt and the children watching the show. Those pictures were all taken with a relatively new Canon T5i that I got as a back up to my 5Dmklll. I have hardly used it and wanted to see just how well it performs as we have a big trip to Eastern Europe coming up in 2 weeks..(Yikes..I'm so not ready!!!)… I was thinking to take the T5i instead of the 5D to cut down on weight. The shots looked pretty sharp I thought. I will have to use the camera tomorrow night and see how I feel. Happy Almost weekend!
October 21 2014 - Stark 3rd post in the 5 day black and white challenge. I now nominate Chandru Jain for this challenge. I'm sure he will come up with some wonderful images.
