June 24... This is an exact replica of a Viking ship," The Sea Stallion", built with the same materials and tools as the original, which was built in the year 1042. It is 29 meters long. July 1st 2007 65 "Vikings" were onboard again and sailed north of Scotland and the Orkney Islands and on August 15 it reached Dublin, Ireland. The reception in Dublin was considerable warmer than it was year 1042 when it was there. After huge quantities of Irish beer it set off for home. This time south of England. The route was planned considering prevailing wind-conditions.
03.03.15 - Bus Station It was very windy yesterday and so on my guided photo walk last night we took partial shelter in the bus station while experimenting with long shutter speeds. It was a lot of fun, amazingly I've never tried this before, and I'm surprised that no one came to ask us what we were doing
2015-03-03 The theme for this week on an online course I am doing is "stacked".
Day 063: Tulips Impressionistic Art- Mar 4. Well - more digital play on another dreary weather day. Glad that I bought the tulips - they are cheering me up. This is the result of layering one copy of a tulip photograph on to of the other (same photo). One layer was painted in Simplify and one was not. Moved the top layer so that it was not in sync with the bottom and blended the layers. Thanks to those who commented yesterday with suggestions on sources for backgrounds. PS. I finally gave in and opened a Twitter account. I'm a total newbie at it. IF YOU ARE ON TWITTER, I'D BE GRATEFUL IF YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME TO HELP GET ME STARTED. Will follow yours in return. GO TO GeoghanRPhotos. Thanks.
