January 24, 2010 - "Sunday Morning Fog" Last Sunday morning I looked outside and there was heavy fog. So I quickly dressed and drove a couple miles to a barn that I have been wanting to shoot in heavy fog. The barn sits on a hill and there was not enough fog to even get out of the car and try a shot. So, on the way home I stopped by some horse property on the low land around Bear Creek. None of the horses were out but I did get this photo. April 25, 2010 - This photo was the second place winner in the Scenics category of the juried 2010 Bob Jones Nature Center Photography Contest in Southlake, Texas. There were six categories and the photos had to be shot in our local area Ecosystem
05.02.10 - Eclipse We had a big orange hazy sunset this evening. I was trying to avoid my usual big sky type of sunset photo, so I put the long lens on and had a play around with silhouettes. This one took my fancy :) There is a slightly different version here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/Photography/INSPIRATION/10329875_Lpojy#781730475_NvGeX
I took this picture at an exhibition of Eduard Munch's drawings. Was awarded gold medal from our national Photographic Society
2-02: This is another from Saturday's sunset. Several people have asked if the colors are real (natural) in yesterday's. It was taken as three bracketed exposures but only at -1, 0 and 1. Then combined in Photomatix. Then final processing in Capture NX2 (mostly brightness and focus adjustments) I didn't change any colors. I did actually have to desaturate a little because the orange and reds tend to be over saturated sometimes. I used the same processing on today's post. This one was actually taken a few minutes before the one I posted yesterday, so the clouds are more orange than red or pink
February 1, 2009 - From the Dallas Zoo. Following the leader, the leader, the leader We're following the leader wherever he may go We won't be home till morning, till morning We won't be home till morning Because he told us so.
Des-0253 My energetic niece, taunting me this afternoon at her brother's birthday party. Normally one to ham it up for the camera, she was being a bit mischievous today and tried to hide behind the door before I could get a shot off. She almost succeeded but ultimately ended up giving me what easily turned out to be my favorite shot of the day. Thanks for all the comments on the baseball shot I posted a couple days ago. I haven't had time to follow up/comment much yet, but I've certainly enjoyed easing back in and seeing/hearing from a lot of familiar folks.
2-1: Saturday evening we had quite a nice sunset, so I took a walk along the Poudre trail near Prospect street hoping to find some good views. I found this waterfall like thing.
2-23: I woke up at 5:30 Sunday morning thinking about work and a task I'm supposed to finish soon so I decided to go to work for a while. I know it sounds really sad but it did give me an opportunity to take some pictures! This was taken near the Arapaho Bend natural area just down the hill from HP. I like the morning light on the grass

180 24th Oct Petronas Towers Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Shot hand held with D200 & 18-70mm. No PP. The Petronas Twin Towers (also known as the Petronas Towers or Twin Towers), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were the world's tallest buildings, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings and office building in the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petronas_Twin_Towers www.javeri.net
Monday, July 21, 2008 (day 52) Went to Eastern State Penitentiary with friends who can't join the SmugMug group on August 13th. Plus, I filled out a survey on the way out and I have 4 free passes for the SmugMug group! It was soooo hot and humid. It was fun to shot there, I think (hope) I learned alot from my mistakes, don't you just love digital!!!
22.3.09 - Comfort Zone When I joined the Dailies just over a year ago one of my stated goals was to "get out of my landscape comfort zone". There have been times when I've retreated deeply into my comfort zone, but this weekend hasn't been one of them. I've been working as a stills photographer on this project http://www.theladyofshalott.co.uk/index.html and today was the last big film shoot. My main role was to take individual shots of the actors for their portfolios, but I also took a lot of candids and general shots to record the event. All will be revealed in late May when the film is launched, but until then the imagery and style of the film is being closely managed. I can honestly say that I've never worked with such a wonderful bunch of talented individuals, and the whole experience has been magical. Unfortunately, I now have to process so many photos that I'll be AWOL from the Dailies again for another day or so. I know you'll be patient with me, and I hope this photo will maintain your interest until I can reveal a bit more :)
1-03: Thursday I let my daughter drive up to Horsetooth and on some of the roads up there (she's just started learning to drive). It just so happened that the sky was pretty awesome looking so I had her stop and I took some pictures. As you can see our snow is almost completely gone now :(
I got a new camera! I have been working with a Nikon D40 and am now celebrating my upgrade to a D90. Kinda needed to though. My D40 is in the shop....and I have photos to take, darn it. Over the Holidays I was reading the Twilight series *sigh*...(I know, I know...already to much information;)And finally saw the movie. Then a couple nights ago, I watched Sweeney Todd. I was amazed by the lighting, the colors, contrast of both movies. I love the hair and costume design in Sweeney Todd... I became inspired....and this was my result... ****Thank you very much for all of the Awesome comments. I must admit though, this is a self portrait. Yup. Me, my camera, tri-pod, and a touch of inspirado.....********
