Hepatica is another early blooming woodland wildflower. These are round-lobed hepatica (the lobe shape referring to the leaves). They come in a range of color, from palest lilac, virtually indistinguishable at a distance from white, to the deep purple seen here. DP110-2015 Posted Monday, April 20. For the unfiltered version, see here: http://smu.gs/1P5MH9H To produce this filtered version, I applied a layer of Topaz Labs Impressions Impasto filter (brush #4, no canvas texture), and on top of that added one of Filter Forges Watercolor frames. I tweaked the stroke length and width in the Impasto filter, and added a touch of vignette. Monday, April 20, 2015 "WHITERRIFIC" "Let us permit nature to have her way. She understands her business better than we do." ~ Michel de Montaigne Dancing in the wind were these ornamental, spectacular, and spring flowers known as "Magnolia Stellatas" (aka "Star Magnolias"). According to Wikipedia, they are "slow-growing shrubs or small trees native to Japan that bear large, showy white or pink flowers in early spring, before their leaves open." I appreciate your comments on my "Nana Necklace" yesterday. I noticed that a few of you got a kick out of me being known as "Glam-Ma" (aka "Glamorous Grandma").....and yes, I am....... and love it! Have a marvelous Monday! NIBBS (Hair Salon) ***#10 photo of the day*** (photo taken 3/24/2015) My Homepage: www.Godschild.SmugMug.com
