Letter Z - detail of Lurie Bell Tower Judy's Letter Shape Challenge Week #26 (July 13, 2014) DP194-2014 Posted July 13; created July 12 This fragment of a photo of decorative panels on this structure was not artificially 'selected' or 'carved' to create the letter shape, as you will see if you view the source image. I did crop away repeats of this shape, the continuation of the panels as they wrapped around to a different face of the tower, and background stuff. My DailyPhotos post for tomorrow will be my completed mosaic of all 26 letter shape submissions for this challenge. Big thanks to Judy Horton for suggesting it. It allowed each of us who participated to choose the level of involvment we were comfortable with, and I think it opened each participant's eyes to new ways of seeing their surroundings. I loved the community spirit these past two extended challenges have fostered, but my own preference in regard to possible challenges in the coming weeks would be for several shorter challenges rather than one which extends for half a year, as the alphabet related challenges have done. I need a bit of a breather from such an extended commitment.
Z for the challenge. I found all my letters and will post today to finish the challenge.
07-13-2014 - Shaped Like a "Z" Abstract from a piece of Art and Final Letter for Judy's Challenge. What's next???
'Z' and the rest of the alphabet for the end of the alphabet challenge - of course your challenge is now to find the Zs in the image.......and then all the other letters :-) Alphabet-on-wheels,-Monreale, Sicily
P for the challenge. I found all my letters and will post today to finish the challenge.
7/13/14 - Z letter shape Thanks for your comments on my shot of the street musician in Santa Fe, although someone told me that they were unable to get a comment on the image to post. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem with smugmug. I'm looking forward to the last day of the alphabet challenge and seeing your Zs and other letters! We've done very well with this challenge. I'm really proud of us! What is our next challenge to be? We've had suggestions of abstracts, logos, interesting signs, colors, and doing the alphabet again the way we did it the first time? What is the consensus. I'm fine with whatever everyone else wants to do.
I for the challenge. I found all my letters and will post today to finish the challenge.
J for the challenge. I found all my letters and will post today to finish the challenge.
12.07.14 -The Last of the Few This is a composite image of two Spitfires from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight superimposed on a 3 shot photomerge panorama of the sunset a couple of nights ago. I've had this idea in my head for a while.
July 13, 2014 I had a better Z photographed somewhere in my millions of photos, but for the life of me I couldn't find it. After searching, I gave up and went out to Bill's workshop in search of something that could even remotely resemble a Z. His workshop delivered once again - this magnifying light sort of looks like a Z. Oh well, it was the best I could do on the spur of the moment. Looking forward to seeing everyone's entries in the challenge today. What's our next challenge? I'm game with whatever the majority vote is. ... Rick's logo challenge? Food? Billiejean's abstracts? They all sound fun! Still On Sunday's? How long would the duration be? We need to set the timeframe, like the alphabet challenges from Donna and Judy were for a set time. Thoughts? Looking forward to everyone's ideas. Have a wonderful Sunday my friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

This fragment of a photo of decorative panels on this structure was not artificially 'selected' or 'carved' to create the letter shape, as you will see if you view the source image. I did crop away repeats of this shape, the continuation of the panels as they wrapped around to a different face of the tower, and background stuff.

This was such a fun challenge. Big thanks to Judy Horton for suggesting it. I loved the community spirit these past two extended challenges have fostered, but my own preference in regard to possible challenges in the coming weeks would be for several shorter challenges rather than one which extends for half a year, as the alphabet related challenges have done.
