Aug.20. Wheel Bug. Yes, it has a coating of short gray hairs which I didn't notice until I got this close up. It also delivers a painful bite if handled carelessly.
1963 Ford F350, found 10 miles south from Seminole, Tx. near a farmers cotton field.
I don't know whether this aquatic vegetation is reeds, sedges, grasses, or something else, to be honest. I liked the way the line between plants and their reflections seemed to disappear in the calm water. DP232-2014 Posted August 20; processed August 19 Maltby Lake near the fishing pier, Huron Meadows Metro Park, Michigan Taken August 16, 2014 Title: Reedy Reflections
Jousting at Battle of Bosworth Re-enactment 2014 In response to TsTravels - the white lance has just broken, the object in the sky is a rubber (?) end tip similar to the one you can see on the end of the green lance.
8/20/2014 ~ ROAR! I spotted this male Desert Tarantula (Aphonopelma chalcodes) crossing a road in New Mexico near Carlsbad and made a U-turn to get his photo. He's standing on his hind legs trying to look big and bad and intimidating. He doesn't scare me, I make pets out of them! Tarantulas are the gentle giants of the arachnid world. They do have mild venom, which is used to paralyze other insects before eating them. It's not dangerous to humans, and feels no worse than a bee sting. They seldom bite people and become accustomed to handling. This one is about the size of a donut, but the Goliath Bird Eater, a native to South America is dinner plate sized! Thank you for the nice comments on my shot of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens yesterday!
Scarlet Aug 20 A beautiful scarlet ibis. I love the vibrant color of this bird!
Balancing Act One of our common Ruddy Darters on a pod in the Danube Wetlands National Park
The kids during their long trek to catch the receding tide. Happy Hump Day! 08/20/2014

8/20/14 - I liked the way these two were so fascinated by something. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the old black Cadillac!
August 20, 2014 As mentioned, Golden, TX is a small (pop 197) town in East Texas. The Domino Grill is in one of the three buildings in Golden. The restaurant has two dominoes tables that look like they get a lot of use. Most towns in the south have places where the men get together and play dominoes, some weekly some monthly. I remember my dad and grandfather playing dominoes. The clinking and sliding of the dominoes brings back wonderful memories. Thank you for your comments yesterday. I had appointments most of the day and didn't get to comment much. I will try to catch up today. Enjoy the day! Jeanne
August 20, 2014 Roseate Skimmer (female) I did not have daily post today - until I found this beauty in my front yard. She is sitting on a red yucca, amazingly there were 2 shoots side by side and 2 skimmers, but I could not get a good 2 in one shot.
