January 14. This is a 100 year old summerhouse in the dunes just 100 m. from the beach. I shot it just before sunset in order to get the glow in the windows and the dark BG. The foreground was darkened in order to draw all attention to this well-preserved house .
Day 032: BIF-Canada Goose - Feb 1. Not the greatest BIF image but it made me laugh. This Canada Goose was the last of his flock to take to the air and he seemed to be calling out "Wait for me" - His take-off posture was rather clumsy and it did make me smile when I saw the image.
June 2014: Lupine Dusk Lupine purple wildflowers beside a mountain stream just after sunset when the clouds lit up the sky in profuse color!

February 24, 013 In honor of Black History month and to participate in the Sisterhood of the Bra's challenge to post something black today, I'm sharing one of my favorite photo subjects: A black car. This is no ordinary car, but one made for racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Yes, that's salt on the tires, not snow. Enjoy! Linda
February 16, 2013 My what big teeth you have! If you ever wondered what a hippopotamus looks like up close and personal, check this guy out in the larger sizes. It's much safer to view him here, than in his native habitat. Have a great day full of huge delights! Linda

Women burning incense to a smiling Buddha, Sulamani Temple, Bagan, Myanmar At the original size you can just see the glowing end of the incense stick. I liked the position of the three woman, each a little closer to the Buddha and each head higher than the next, drawing my eye up towards the statue's hand, and then the light coloured arm and shoulder making a reverse curve up towards the head (i.e., all together making a semi-circle) For another image of a woman with a different Buddha (and a photo of two cute school children) see here: http://goo.gl/Gsgsz

Each of the so-called Royal Parks near Buckingham Palace (Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James Park) has a unique history and character. One of the charms of St. James Park is the glimpses it affords of some of the surrounding attractions, mingled with views of the lake and the abundant resident waterfowl. This is a view to the east, across the lake, toward the famous, or infamous, London Eye Ferris wheel, with its viewing pods. In between, out of sight, is the Thames, which flows S-N along this stretch.. St. James Park is the oldest of the Royal Parks, dating to the start of the reign of King James I, in 1603. The London Eye was opened for visitors in 2000. As of this year, 2015, it is to be known officially as the Coca-Cola London Eye. Egads! DP029-2015 Posted Thursday, January 29; processed ditto Look closely and you'll see two swans on the lake, and beyond the screen of trees, some pedestrians, probably on Horse Guard Rd. They add a little size perspective. I wish I had captured the full reflection of the 'Eye', but it was too late to go back and redo it by the time I realized my mistake. St. James Park, London, UK Taken Sunday, August 26, 2007 Title: The Old and the New - London Eye From St. James Park Intent: Travel and aesthetics
Spotted crane fly on Aralia leaf... This shot is from the same plant as yesterday's post, but with the one obvious addition! With my search on Google, I'm thinking it's a spotted crane fly. Please feel free to advise if you recognize it as something different, thanks! Thank you for your views and comments, always appreciated! Critiques welcome... January 31, 2015

March 4.... Henning Koppel is one of the most distinguished designer of Georg Jensen Silversmithy. He designed cutlery, jewelry and hollowware. As CFO at Georg Jensen I came to know him well and often visited him at his home at the coast north of Copenhagen. At one of these visits I made series of photos of him at work. I placed one of his silver jugs on the table and made this photo with long exposure time to illustrate him in action. This jug is called "The pregnant Goose". This jug and other pieces from his hand is exhibited in the permanent section of Museum of Modern Art, New York. This photo was taken with my Leica M6 and scanned last year.
