Young Swainson's Hawk - standing on a driveway near the sidewalk. He didn't seem to notice when I stopped across the street and took some shots. Taken in Kuna, ID.
8/30/14 - Raindrops and rose; I confess that if I know I'm going to be shooting flowers, I carry a spray bottle of water with me to create my own raindrops. That is what made the drops here. I certainly appreciated your comments which made my shot of the bottlebrush the #1 shot at the end of the day. I have to agree with Terry that the out of focus leaf in the foreground always bothered me, too, even though I loved the light on the flower. I'd thought of posting the image before but never did because of that leaf. I was kind of desperate yesterday and posted it. I'm glad so many of you liked the shot. Are you ready for the final day of Rick's logo challenge. I have a whole bunch of logos I've shot and am having trouble deciding which one to post.

The Ring Tower The "Ringturm" was Austria's first "skyscraper" constructed 1953-1955 at the end of the post-war occupation. It has 23 floors and a pole on the top that flashes different lights for different weather conditions. It is a plain 1950s concrete/steel/glass box, but for the last decade it has been wrapped in art every summer. This year's wrap is "Schleier der Agnes" (Agnes' Veil) by Arnolf Rainer.

Saturday, August 30, 2014 "BARBIE Q" by Cleveland's Junior Auxiliary I found this on the Internet while searching for quotes pertaining to pigs......... "Dear Girls and Ladies, dressing immodestly is like rolling around in manure. You'll get attention, but mostly from pigs." ~ Sincerely, Godly Boys and Godly Men SOOC, uncropped; flash didn't fire; 35mm lens "Over 150 entries were submitted for the pig naming contest. The winning name was submitted by Tempa Fleming. Fleming grew up in Cleveland and moved back to town after living around the country for the last 25 years. Members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee narrowed down the field and the Chamber Board of Directors voted by ballot on the final name. The mosaic pig was created by members of Cleveland’s Junior Auxiliary and purchased by Nan Sanders who donated the pig to the Chamber so that it would be an addition to the public art available in Cleveland. Junior Auxiliary will provide a plaque with the pig’s name. The winner of the contest will receive (received) a gift basket containing a pig statue from Peter’s Pottery, Fat Side Up Memphis BBQ Rub, a gift certificate to Sweet’s BBQ, and additional pig related items." ~ Reprinted text from here: http://www.clevelandmschamber.com/#!news/c1q02 Have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend! 29.08.14 - All in a Day Yesterday was quite an epic day of filming, three locations around Lincolnshire with weather to suit the scenes being shot. When we were indoors at Church Farm museum shooting the kitchen scene the weather was hot and sunny. It wasn't bad when we were inside Thimbleby church filming a piece for the end credits. But when we were outside at Baumber Park it was as though the weather Gods knew we were shooting two dramatic November scenes, as the wind, rain and cold swept in with a vengeance! Today is Christmas Eve on set, so who knows what will happen :)
08-30-2014 "Fallen Over" I don't know if the weight of the cap made this mushroom fall over or if it had been there a while. It caught my eye being in this position. Thank you so very much for your comments on my photos the last few days. I haven't been able to comment much at all on any of your photos because I've been on the road. Have another trip today. I will try to do some catch up with comments later. Donna
