May 30, 2015 This is granddaughter Eleanor enjoying ice cream at a local fast food place. You can see that she's in hog heaven. I loved the innocent joy on her face. Eleanor is our next to the youngest grandchild, she will be 4 on June 17th. Her cousin Kaylin (who you all have seen photos of) is the youngest of the grands and she will be 4 on July 20th. "Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings." ~ William Arthur Ward Thank you for your comments & critiques! Have a joyful day! Linda http://www.lgood.smugmug.com

May 29, 2015 Time to relax
Who is watching whom? This is a European Ground Squirrel. They burrow in fields and especially in sandy hillsides (like vineyards, for example). This looks like an old guy who doesn't get upset to see humans - just bored.

29.05.15 - Inspired! A long shot of the spire at the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial, a major project being built on the southern edge of Lincoln, see here for details; http://internationalbombercommandcentre.com/ I was photographing a wedding most of the day and took this in the early evening as I was on my way back to photograph the evening reception
April 12, 2011 Hello everyone, I'm really late getting my POTD posted today. We had some pretty wild weather here in Waxahachie, TX and have been without electricity for about 36 hours. It's just a reminder how much we sometimes take 'every day things' for granted, like hot water, lights, microwave, etc. The good news is it's back on and we didn't sustain any damage, but unfortunately a lot of people around here did. My heart goes out to several that lost roofs, trees, fences and one in particular who lost his entire building that his business was housed in. Fortunately there were no injuries. So my apologies for not commenting lately - I'll get caught up soon. I'm headed to Birmingham again in the morning for the rest of the week, but I'll have some evenings in the hotel that I can enjoy your wonderful photos and comment. I thank all of you sincerely for your wonderful comments today and yesterday. It's probably going to be a "Mustang" photo week, since we went to a National Mustang show this past weekend. This is a 1969 Mach 1, like my car - except that it has a 351 motor and mine has a 390. But the biggest difference is that this car has won so many Concourse d'Elegance gold awards that it is now in the Conservator class. It has all of the parts that it would have had when it originally rolled off the factory floor in 1969. Making conservator is really, really tough. This one was a beauty and is a gorgeous maroon color. The car came to Texas for the show from Illinois. Hope you enjoy - this is SOOC. Have a great evening! Linda

TWISTED 5 30 2015
05.30.15 In the stockade. I have some fun props for doing photo booths. Some of the students tried to get as many hats and things in their photo as possible. This kid has on a red velvet hat that I made, a red tiara, the conical princess hat and a mask. I was suppose to have a parent helper to do crowd control, but she left after 20-minutes. I did have a teacher getting the kids into and out of the stockade, but we were both focused on our part of this. Sadly, the kids got rough with my things. If I do this again with a large group of kids, I will tell the adults that I will pack up and leave if there is not an adult to watch over the props. The props are fairly tough, but they won't survive being thrown on the ground and fought over.
