DailyPhotos > popular today > The quest for color continues....
I found this colorful little reflective swamp with snow still on the trees. This is a shot of just the water, with my favorite thing to photograph~ripples!
I want to thank all of you who have been so generous with your time and comments lately. I guess I'm doing something right as so many of you seem to really dig what I put up here. Have a great day!!

DailyPhotos > popular today > 12/8/09 - Christmas Colors
I thought it was kindof time to come up with another glass abstract shot. And, I figured tis the season for red and green. So, I've been trying to get a good shot for a few days now. I can't say that I'm totally happy with this one, but it's the best out of the batch that I took I think.

BTW, when we bought our Christmas tree, I did pass on the tree stand picture that I took to the owner. I gave him a color and B&W version. But, I did this after I paid. He seemed delighted as was I. The barn pictures has been in his family for over 100 years.

Remember the elf on the shelf? I think we have 6 elves in various forms moving around the house now:-) It's quite magical for the boys. They believe!

Thanks for the comments on the camelia shot. Sasanqua camelias are fall/winter blooming plants, and I guess since NC has a very mild early winter, they look pretty well into December.

HAGD,
Maryann
DailyPhotos > popular today > We're busy, busy, busy .... but the other night, Maeve and I took a break, put on our jammies and watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. (December 7, 2009)

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.

DailyPhotos > popular today > 12.08.2009 Home

This is where I grew up as a kid spending hours in these woods being a boy. I still get excited every time I'm taking my kids 'home' to visit family and friends. I think we all have a place we consider home, but do we ever truly stop considering where we grew as being our 'home'? Every year I keep inching a little closer to 40 and I still consider this home!

Today is my daughter Lael's 14th Birthday--so there was no way she was getting out of a quick portrait sitting for my photo of the day. We are still in Arizona and the light was too strong outside for a good portrait, so I wrapped her in our hotel room curtains, used a wide aperture and full on flash--usually a no-no for me.

She is becoming such a beautiful young lady and she makes me proud in so many ways. Happy Birthday darling!
DailyPhotos > popular today > Day 340: Potato Truck
December 7, 2009
These old trucks keep popping up all over the North Fork. I guess it's sort of the signature or flavor of the area since it's such an old potato farming community. The North Fork is the largest agricultural area in the state of New York..... a fact I just learned. Who knew?
