DailyPhotos > popular today > Another Sunday afternoon, another weekend gone by. The weather is still very hot and muggy but there is an underlying sense of autumn in the air. My expectations for the group of images from the afternoon shoot were much higher than what I actually captured. It was so beautiful in the woods, the colors were so warm and rich. Photography has a way of reminding me that despite what progress I may have made over the past ten months since I bought this camera that I have miles and miles to go. That's part of the appeal and the challenge. I was wondering if photography was more a craft or a skill or an art. To me it seems to be all of those things Today's photo was one of only three out of about sixty-five that seemed to be close to what I had intended to capture when I was shooting. The song choice for the day is by Blind Pilot, the title is "Oviedo" from the "3 Rounds and a Sound" album.

Been so busy that I never even got around to picking up the crayons after I spilled them on the floor last week . . . much less posting any new dailies. At least they provided quick inspiration so that the folks who check my pics on a regular basis would know that I am still kicking. (Hi Mom) So, am I wierd or does anyone else who loves colors play this little game with crayons too? I sort of miss some of the old standard blended colors. The new ones have different tones and hues that just don't easily fit into a wheel like the ones from the olden days. And I have still never figured out how to incorporate all the browns, grays, blacks and white into this.
