I couldn't open Sean's settings, but I figured out why the color changed when I opened this up in PS from ACR. Remember when I asked about the little dialogue box that pops up asking me about the embedded color profile, the working space, and color management? I normally click on don't color manage, which apparently throws away all my ACR adjustments. This time I told it to keep the working space whatever settings (yeah, I know, highly technical language -- it was the middle button), and it kept my ACR changes, which had just been to cool it down a bit. Then, in RGB still, I set the white point based on her front paw, which brought her fur back to normal and set the black point too. If I wanted to fiddle more, I would probably tone it down a bit, or start over and adjust in LAB as Sean suggested, and restore the burned out book cover spine and also lighten her eyes. But for now I'm just happy to have figured out the odd ACR to PS transition.
