Ecuadorian Images : These photos are available for personal, art and editorial use under a 'personal' license. Some, with photo releases, may be downloaded for tasteful commercial use. The images may not be downloaded/used for commercial use whenever model releases would/could be required. Photos were taken and edited to present participants in a positive light. Hundreds more of these photos are coming. Check back. See 'Download' tab under 'Buy'. We especially recommend printing these photos on canvas for wonderful, oil painting effect. You can order canvas printing in either a 'rolled' format or 'framed'. The framed option (under 'this photo') is inexpensive and allows you to hang the photograph immediately upon receiving it. Enjoy!

With a home base in Alaska, Dave Harbour specializes in candid photographs of newsmakers, wildlife, special events and real life. Many of the photos are camera cropped but others are heavily cropped. Accordingly, editors requiring higher resolution photographs are welcome to contact us: daveharbour@gmail.com. In our archives we have photos of most of the animal and bird species in the world as well as worldwide landscapes. You may email us requesting the highest resolution version of photos, though these may be uncropped and unedited--bearing in mind that our objective is to capture photojournalism poses (i.e. in the case of human subjects) that are positive from the subject's perspective, if not flattering.

Come celebrate International Week USA by checking out these free movie nights in Sucre Theatre (Mariscal Sucre and Luis Cordero) at 7 PM. Wednesday: The General (1929). Plot: Johnnie Gray has two loves in his life: his train, “The General”, and his girl, Annabelle Lee. When the Civil War begins he is turned down for service because he's more valuable as an engineer. Annabelle thinks it's because he's a coward. Union spies capture The General with Annabelle on board and plan to use the train to supply Union soldiers in a sneak attack against the Confederates. But now it's up to Johnnie Gray and his love, Annabelle Lee, to reclaim The General, re-cross enemy lines, and warn the Confederates. The world agrees that this movie is a masterpiece and it is now considered by critics as one of the greatest films ever made. In 2007, The General was ranked #18 by the American Film Institute on their 10th Anniversary list of the 100 best American movies of all time. (Run time: 73 min) Thursday: Phantom of the Opera (1989). Plot: Music student, Christine Day, obtains a piece of music entitled 'Don Juan Triumphant' that is the lost work of 19th century British composer Erik Destler. But as she sings the piece at an audition, she is struck by a dropped sandbag. She regains consciousness to find herself back in 19th century London where she is the understudy in “Faust”. The opera house is haunted by rumors of a phantom. The phantom is in fact Destler who has sold his soul to the Devil so that his music could be immortal, the price of this being that his face would be scarred and hideous to all, forcing him to hide it behind a mask of sewn flesh. Destler gives secret tuition to Christine and kills those in the way so that she can become the lead in “Faust”. But after the triumphant premiere, he abducts her down to his lair, insisting that she be his forever. (Run time: 93 min) Friday: The Gold Rush (1925). Plot: In the middle of the Gold Rush, A lone prospector (Charlie Chaplin) searches the tundra for gold. But he finds more than gold; he finds love, and an uproarious adventure that forever change the lives of the people he meets. The Gold Rush is a classic silent comedy and is written, produced, directed by, and starring Charlie Chaplin in his Little Tramp role. The Tramp—small, innocent, beleaguered, romantic, oblivious, resourceful, idealistic—lives inside everyone, but Charlie Chaplin made him manifest, with humor that is never cruel, never aggressive, and always speaks to our best selves. “The Gold Rush,” was one of Charlie Chaplin’s favorite film productions and is the film that Charlie Chaplin wanted to be remembered by. (Run time: 95 min). Colleen: colleen@heartsofgoldfoundation.org
