SmugMug > popular today > 07.05.09 = I'm not a big fan of clowns; they kind of freak me out. This guy was part of the parade on Saturday and when he saw me with my camera he posed so nicely,,,, he was so cute. I probably will reget posting this one, because it will freak me out a little each time I see it. It's Monday, hope everyone has a great week.

Bermuda

My husband and I are vacationing in beautiful Bermuda! I took this shot from the plane as we arrived on the island. It wasn't the greatest quality shot so I took the liberty of applying a watercolor effect to make it more like painting than a photo.

Have a great day!
SmugMug > popular today > "Defining Paris "

Well , this may not be the best way to describe Paris, but I just gave a small try.I had this tiny Eiffel souvenir which I bought from Paris , so thought that the best way to picture Eiffel is by dropping it in wine. One of most beautiful things to experience in Paris is by going on top of the Eiffel and having a french wine at the dusk watching the sunset :-)

SmugMug > popular today > Extremely Rare Animals (only one of each has ever been captured on film (or pixels))

I managed to sneak up on these two fascinating creatures at the Festival for the Eno this weekend. The big one in front is a tiger (it even says so on the sign) and the one in back is a pterodactyl, or more properly a Pterosaur, at least according to wikipedia. (the Ps are silent, so why are they even there?) I was extremely fortunate to stumble upon these wild creatures, as NC is not a place known for rusty big cats or metallic raptors. Just imagine how my heart raced as I stalked these two, maneuvering to within mere feet (and inches) for this shot. I thought for sure I would be attacked, possibly requiring a band-aid (TM) or worse, a tetanus shot.

I found a neighbor and friend of mine (who happens to be a metal sculptor) lounging nearby. Daniel Mathewson, who is a really nice guy (although a little twisted) appeared o be VERY knowledgeable about the history and habits of both creatures.

For those of you expecting an adorable child shot from me for the 4th of July -- here it is. The girls were all lined up to watch the fireworks going off behind our neighbor's house. And, Jeff, I know you expected one dressed like Uncle Sam .... if only I'd remembered to bring my hat ...... (July 5, 2009)

Greetings!!! Happy Belated Fourth of July!!
Well, I certainly have let life and my activities get in the way of any participation in this community for too long!
After my return from Sequoia National Park, we began final preparations for a party, here at our home, featuring an incredible and hilarious show by comedienne/singer/songwriter Kacey Jones. (out of Nashville) An excellent time was had by all !

I took this image just before the party began, of the fountain close to our front door!

If you ever get a chance to see and hear Kacey in person, go for it! Actually her CD's are great too, but you miss the facial expressions, and body language!
P.S. Irish.....tell me that you DO have drink holders like these!!?!
SmugMug > popular today > Yes I am few days late, I hope every one of you and your family had wonderful Happy 4th July from us. I have added a link to my first attempt in shooting fireworks. http://verbeast.smugmug.com/gallery/8800238_3yrAV/1/582680381_ntwdE
