LAFD PHYSICAL RESCUE 9700 TAMPA X SUPERIOR ST - NORTHRIDGE   DEC 19, 2008 : NORTHRIDGE  - Two teenagers were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in  Northridge, police said.   Kathleen Recinos, 18, of Panorama City, was speeding on Tampa Avenue about 6:45 p.m. Friday, witnesses said, when her car hit several other vehicles driving in the same direction near Superior Street, said Officer Norma Eisenman  of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Recinos died at the scene.       A passenger in Recinos' vehicle, Brian Martinez, 18, of Van Nuys, was hospitalized in critical condition and died shortly afterward, according to Eisenman.
Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said that other people  were hurt in other cars in the crash, but information about the number or extent of other injuries was not immediately available.   Photos by Juan Guerra.

12/18/2008 School Bus Accident - 235 and Park Hall : Bus 629 was on Park Hall Road, heading toward Route 235 and struck a utility pole. There were approximately 30 students aboard the bus.

Detroit Box Alarm 2303 Sturdevent 12/17/08 : On December 17, 2008 around 1130 hours companies from the 5th Battalion responded to the area of 14th and Sturdevent for the report of a dwelling fire.  Upon arrival of E40 they found a 2.5 story dwelling well involved in the rear of the structure.  E35/39/40 L28 S4 and C5 worked at this box.

Passaic, NJ 4th Alarm 177 Passaic St. December 16, 2008 : An early morning fire raced through a meat packing facility at 177 Passaic St. in Passaic, NJ. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke on arrival and were withdrawn from the building as the fire escalated. Heavy fire conditions took hold of the building and firefighters had to use defensive tactics. The building suffered a severe collapse and had to be raised. A 4th Alarm aasignment was used bringing in numerous mutual aid departments from Passaic & Bergen Counties. Photos Courtesy of the Passaic Fire Department Training Division.
