San Souci Working House Fire 11-24-2007 : On Saturday morning, November 24, 2007 at 7:24 AM, St. Mary's County Fireboard dispatched a working house fire assignment for 45861 North Poteat Court. Responding units were advised that they would have no trouble finding it as they had taken several calls on the fire. Engine 92 arrived on scene and reported that they had a working house fire with heavy smoke showing. The crew from Engine 92, lead by Sergeant Jack Hare pulled the red line and attacked the fire located in the living room. Engine 33 picked up 92's hydrant and the crew from 33 pulled a back up line and initiated a primary search, ventilating the structure as they went from room to room. Additional assistance was received by crews from Truck 3, Tower 9, Engine 32, Engine 72, Truck 7, A-389, Water Supply 5, St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department, Animal Control, SMECO and the State Fire Marshals Office. Chief 3 held command with Captain 9 as Operations. The last unit cleared the scene at 9:15 AM.

House Fire 2324 E. Shaddybrook Ln. (11/21/07) : E10 on scene had smoke showing from a 1 story residence. E10 went in as Fire Attack and found a fire in the living room and the bathroom. E10 made a knock down in about 5 minutes. E5 was Search and Rescue. BAT1 took command from SQ5 as soon as he arrived on scene. Fire Crews had to fight there way through a lot of debris to get to the fire. E10 made a good stop to save all but the bathroom and part of the living room. Utilities were pulled by E5.

Garage Fire 364 N. Rutan Ave. (11/20/07) : Station 5 on scene gave heavy fire on a detached garage. E5 Fire Attack from the West, E9,SQ5, and E10 were Fire Attack from the East, BAT9 was Command. A power line that was still arcing forced crews to back up from the structure. Fire attack crews did a great job at stopping this fire from spreading to any of the direct exposures next to this fire.

Laurel Grove Station Fire 11-20-2007 : At 1656 a box alarm was dispatched at 26945 Three Notch Road, the Laurel Grove Station. The assignment brought Company's 2, 7, 1, Station 22, Truck 7, Truck 1, and EMS Station 29 to the call. At 1700 hours Fire Chief 3 advised communications he was on the scene and it would be the apartments next to the Laurel Grove Station. Chief 3 advised he had light smoke showing from the attic. Engine 74 (Lt. Raley), and Truck 7 (Capt. Albert) responded to the call at 1657 hours. Engine 21 was the first Engine to arrive on the scene and Engine 74 arrived moments after with 21's line and assuming the Laurel Grove Command. At that time Engine 72 (Lt. Sweeney) responded as well on the call to provide additional manpower. As other units from 7, and 1 were arriving interior units advised that they had a haze inside the structure and at that time Truck Company 7 began to cut there holes in the roof to gain access to see if they could find anything. Lt. Raley then handed Command to Chief 3 who then transferred it over to Chief 2B who arrived at 1710 hours. At that time Chief 2B had Engine 72 and Engine 224 from Golden Beach stage in the Laurel Grove Park. Engine 14 and Truck 1 arrived and assisted units operating on the scene. The surronding apartments were checked with negative results. Units from 7 made access to the roof from the interior and found it to be embers burning and the attic charged with smoke. The Truck crew from Hollywood made there cuts in the roof ventillating the smoke out of the building. Command advised Fireboard to have the Fire Investigator and SMECO respond as well as it was believed to have been triggered but a electrical failure. Units operated on the scene a short time longer and at 1810 hours all Company 7 units had returned to quarters.

3 Alarm Building Fire 1321 E. 1st St. (11/19/07) : SQ1 and E1 were responding to a systems alarm and found heavy smoke coming from a large industrial building. BAT 1 made a quick 2nd alarm then went to a 3rd about 30 minutes later. 181 Safety, AP1, AP2 Aerial Attack, E1 Fire Attack, E25 Pumped, BAT 1 Command, BAT2 South Division, HR4 Ventilation, Q4 water supply for AP1, SQ1Fire Attack, E11 Water Supply for AP2, E5 Fire Attack, SQ5, SQ2 E10,SQ12,E328, E7, 191, 192, E2 MA1, all investigators also responded to the alarm.
