As the crew from Engine 24 made a good knock on the fire Tanker 2 arrived on location and picked up 24's line. At that time Chief 2 arrived and established the command as, Charles Engine Company 2 arrived on location as well as Engine 74 and Truck Company 7 at 1831 hours, who was the first due special service. Truck 7 took position on side alpha and went to work. The Tiller man from the Truck along with the driver threw ground ladders and placed multiple fans in service quickly. The driver then raised the stick to the house so the crew could get access to the roof. The other half of the crew from Truck Company 7 and Engine 74 entered the structure and did there Primary Search along with hooking the ceiling getting any fire in the walls/ceiling. The crews from Company 2, and Charles Station 2 also assisted in extinguishing the fire, and opening the house up so it could be ventilated. Truck Company 7 then sent there crew onto the roof and worked on opening the house up for further ventilation. Once units from Mechanicsville, Hughesville, and Hollywood accomplished there duties they awaited the Fire Marshal to arrive and complete his investigation. After the Fire Marshal completed his investigation it was found that a candle had ignited the blaze. Units then hit any hot spots and restored there units to return to service.
