2nd Alarm in Westview, MD (Baltimore County) : Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday,. June 9, Baltimore County, MD Truck 13 was on their way back to quarters after clearing an apartment fire where they were second-in truck when they were alerted for a reported townhouse fire at 2209 Amber Way in the Westview area. While en route, firefighters were alerted that the county 911 center was receiving multiple phone calls for a fire. First arriving Truck 13 reported heavy fire from the second floor of a middle-of-the-row townhouse. Crews had heavy fire in 2 townhomes and command quickly upgraded to a 2nd Alarm.

Fire in rear of McKay's  6-8-2007 : At 2151 hours Station 3 (Bay District), Station 13 (Pax River) and EMS Station 39 were dispatched to the rear of the McKay's Store at 46075 Signature Ln for a reported Shed Fire. Engine 32 arrived on location at 2154 hours and advised they had a container on fire attached to the Building and requested the Box be upgraded to a Commercial Building Fire. At this time Engine 132 arrived on location and layed a supply line into Engine 32. At 2157 hours Station 9 (Calidfornia), Station 6 (Valley Lee), Truck 7 (Hollywood), Truck 83 (Solomons), and Water Supply 5 (Seventh District) were added to the call. Truck 7 responded with 5 volunteers and the Assistant Fire Chief a minute after dispatch. As other units started responding Engine 32 updated Communications and advised them they had a garbage compactor that was on fire and filling the building with smoke. The crews from Engine 32 and 132 contained the fire to the container while other units arrived. Truck 7 arrived on location at 2214 hours and took position on Side "A" of the structure. Command advised the Truck crew to start ventilating the Building and Chief 7A had the ventilation group. Truck 7 worked with Truck 83 and placed 4 box fans and 3 PPV fans in-service to ventilate the building. Units remained on location for over an hour until the smoke was cleared from the Building. Truck 7 cleared the call at 2326 hours.

6+ Alarm Warehouse Fire in Violetville : Baltimore County firefighters fought one of the largest fires in county history starting on Sunday night June 3rd at a warehouse complex in Violetville, MD.  First arriving crews reported heavy smoke showing, and the situation deteriorated rapidly as firefighters were hampered by low water pressure, wind gusts and a large fire volume. More than 130,000 square feet of warehouse space burned in a fire that was not put under control until Monday.

Evans Seafood Burned Down for Training 6-30-2007 : The Second District Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad along with Bay District, Leonardtown and Avenue Volunteer Fire Departments conducted a live burn training exercise on St. George Island on June 3rd. On Wednesday May 30th members from three stations prepared the building for the burn by removing the glass windows and replacing them with plywood. The plywood was secured to the outside of the building in a manner to allow firefighters to escape safely in case of an emergency .The live training helps to teach firefighters what to look for in a hazardous environment and helps to sharpen their skills for a real emergency.

Controlled Burn with Bay District Fire Dept.    5-20-2007 : On 5/20/2007 the Bay District Volunteers set out for some interior burn evolutions in a acquired house in Lexington Park. The crews assisted in the final preparations for the burn by throwing ladders to all four sides of the house and finished throwing pallets on the piles inside. Chief 3A (Smiley) assigned all the personnel to crews and once everyone was ready and accounted for then they started burning rooms. There was a total of 9 rooms with 2 being in the basement and each crew went inside at least once with some crews going in a couple of times.
