Prairie Warbler
2011-03-27 I followed some 'birders' around and they said that this is a prairie warbler - spending the winter in Florida.

Many thanks for the comments on yesterday's 'catch'. It is nice to be able to get the bird's eye and the fish's eye both in focus!

The edge of the orchid
2011-03-11 Just trying out my new 50mm/1.4 lens at the Selby Botanical Garden in Sarasota, Florida. [This is NOT SOOC - I lightened and furtherl blurred the part that was out of focus]
Many thanks for the comments on my Kestrel shot. - it was one of those shots you take and only identify back home on the computer. Enjoy the day.

Osprey with catch
2011-03-20 I spent a morning with Geoff Coe, a professional wildlife photographer. It was well worth it - tips and techniques and a lot of good shooting. We spent the morning walking Little Estero Lagoon, off Fort Myers Beach in Florida. For more information, see his web site http://www.wildimagesfla.com.
