04.03.09 Looking across the ridge of Ill Bell to Yoke.
The clouds are increasingly gathering & some are looking a little too dark and heavy.... there is forcast thunder storms to the west of us.
This shows the upper part of Upper Pine Lake looking down towards Pine Creek Canyon. The smoky vistas of the day before have finally given way to the fabled Sierra clarity.

This ended up being my favorite shot of the hike and pretty lucky!  It's a great high elevation flower, here at 7000' on the side of Mt. Shasta with a small bee.
The many moods of Arrow Peak and its reflection on the water. This was taken at 6:35am the following morning with the sun beginning to cast its light on the peak. What a wonderful way to begin the dayhike south on the John Muir Trail towards Pinchot Pass...
