Un maravilloso insecto español - A marvelous Spanish insect : Español (English below): Según consta en la <a href="http://hemeroteca.abc.es/nav/Navigate.exe/hemeroteca/madrid/blanco.y.negro/1930/04/06/003.html"><span style="color:DeepSkyBlue">página 3 de la revista Blanco y Negro del domingo 6 de abril de 1930</span></a>, <a href="http://urech.aminus3.com/about/"><span style="color:gold">Urech (mi padre)</span></a> ganó el primer premio del Concurso de Informaciones Fotográficas de dicha revista, dotado con 500 Pts, junto con A. Riesgo Ordóñez, con el reportaje 'Un maravilloso insecto español'. Este reportaje había sido publicado en las <a href="http://hemeroteca.abc.es/nav/Navigate.exe/hemeroteca/madrid/blanco.y.negro/1929/06/23/005.html"><span style="color:DeepSkyBlue">páginas 5 a 8 del Blanco y Negro de 23 de junio de 1929</span></a>, y muestra todas las fases de la evolución de la ‘Graellsia isabellae’. Según se escribe en la revista: "La "Graellsia Isabellae", a que esta información se refiere, es el hermoso parásito de nuestros pinos; fue clasificado por el naturalista español Graëls, quien lo dedico a la Reina doña Isabel II. Es muy apreciado de los naturalistas, y en su interesante biología, tiene el detalle curioso del desarrollo, en quince a veinticinco minutos, de sus alas vistosas, proceso a que está fielmente dedicado esta información". El jurado del certamen estaba compuesto por el periodista J. Campo Moreno y los fotógrafos Virgilio Muro y Alfonso Sánchez, “Alfonso”, este último uno de los más prestigiosos reporteros gráficos españoles del siglo pasado. No sé con qué cámara están hechas las fotos, pero los negativos son "placas" de celuloide de 95mm x 145mm. English: As stated on <a href="http://hemeroteca.abc.es/nav/Navigate.exe/hemeroteca/madrid/blanco.y.negro/1930/04/06/003.html"><span style="color:DeepSkyBlue">page 3 of the magazine Blanco y Negro on Sunday April 6, 1930</span></a>, <a href="http://urech.aminus3.com/about/"><span style="color:gold">Urech (my father)</span></a> won the first prize of Photographic Information Contest of the magazine, worth 500 Pts, along with A. Riesgo Ordonez, with the report 'A wonderful Spanish insect'. This article was published on <a href="http://hemeroteca.abc.es/nav/Navigate.exe/hemeroteca/madrid/blanco.y.negro/1929/06/23/005.html"><span style="color:DeepSkyBlue">pages 5-8 of Blanco y Negro of June 23, 1929</span></a>, and shows all stages of the evolution of the 'Graellsia isabellae'. As written in the magazine: The "Graellsia Isabellae", to which this information relates, is our beautiful pine parasite that was classified by the Spanish naturalist Graëls, who dedicated it to Queen Elizabeth II. It is prized by naturalists, and their interesting biology, has the curious detail of development of their colorful wings in fifteen to twenty five minutes, process to which this information is faithfully devoted. The panel of judges was composed by journalist J. Campo Moreno and photographers Virgilio Muro and Alfonso Sanchez, "Alfonso", the latter one of the most prestigious Spanish photographers of the last century.
