My Sketches : I'm not an artist but sometimes when I am in a good mood or when I am stressed up then I do draw sketches here and there on the pieces of paper, just to be binned later on. But sometimes I do like some ideas behind those drawings and I keep them to be uploaded later on, on my website. It's only since the end of last year (2006) that I have begun to draw more and more - couple of sketches per month. I feel that I have got the artistic germs but I don't know whether at this age (in my 40's) I will have the time and the patience to develop it any further!

Pakistan : For our first few days in Pakistan we had no access to news from outside, except for one tour group going north, who gave us an outline of the events of 9-11. Finally, we heard that all foreigners needed to leave the country. Much as I loved the people and scenery of the Hunza valley, I was glad to comply! I think I was on the last Cathay Pacific flight to leave Karachi for Bangkok for several months.

Karakoram Highway : From Kashgar we started up the Karakoram Highway to the highest land border in the world - China meets Pakistan at 15,500 feet. After one night in yurts on the shores of Kara Kul at 12,000 feet and one in the small town of Tashkurgan, we crossed into Pakistan hours after the 9-11 attacks. With only hardly-credible rumors reaching us (no TV, radio or newspapers up here), we pushed worries aside to marvel at the scenery.

IDEAS 2006 : IDEAS 2006 was held in Karachi in November 2006 and was an imrpessive expo. I wasn't carrying a camera for most of the functions otherwise there would have been some wonderful shots from the Mobility Display and the Joint Forces Display. Nevertheless the ballistic missiles on display were very impressive.
