April 4, 2009 - GFIR - Sinton and Fillmore : High winds are suspected to have caused a light pole to rock back and forth causing it to spit sparks onto the dry grass at off ramp to Fillmore from I-25. The sparks lite the dry grass as the strong winds quickly blew the fire across Sinton Road and down to the railroad tracks. The fire was quickly contained and limited to about 3 acres.

March 17, 2009 - VFIR - 1428 W. Colorado Ave. : At approximately 1230pm, CSFD responded to a truely freak accident. A vehicle crashed into a pickup truck causing the pickup truck to knock off a fuel pump which was ultimately pushed onto a minivan causing a fire that destroyed two vehicles and killed one patron. Cause of the accident is still under investigation and the identity of the deceased has not been released.

Working Fire Worcester, MA Box 4-19 59 King Street March 30, 2009 : Worcester Fire Alarm dispatched companies to Box 04-19 for 59 King Street just after 1230 in the afternoon on a wet Monday on March 30, 2009. Engine 2 arrived to find smoke showing from the A-D corner of a vacant 40x60 2sty wdfm dwelling. Firefighters stretched a 1.75" handline through the front door to start the fire attack. A second 1.75" hand line was dragged in for back-up. Companies found fire on the second floor A-D corner in a closet that had extended slightly to the main room. Ladder 3 opened the windows on side 1 floor #2 and then made the roof to open if needed. The fire investigation unit was requested to the scene due to the nature of this fire. The scene was placed under control in roughly 30 minutes.

3rd Alarm Pawtucket, RI 73 Baldwin St March 13, 2009 : Pawtucket, RI - Engine 5 arrived first due finding heavy smoke showing from this 3sty wdfm flat top vacant dwelling at 73 Baldwin Street on Friday the 13th around 2015hrs. Companies found heavy fire conditions in the basement rapidly extending upwards through the front stairwell. The heavy smoke and fire blew out of the second floor windows on side 4 and 1 once companies beagn to vent. The OIC struck second and third alarms due to the heavy fire that was pushing from the dwelling. All companies were ordered out of the building for roll call and for a quick defensive operation. Engine 5's deck gun and Tower Ladder 2's waterway knocked the bulk of the fire down and companies were allowed to return inside to mop up. Pockets of hidden fire were soon exposed and wet down. The fire was placed under control around 2130hrs.
