Paterson NJ 3rd Alarm 359 McLean Blvd (Rt.20) 04-11-12 : At just around 06:30 Paterson Fire Alarm received a call from PPD reporting a working building fire on McLean Blvd near 21st Ave behind the Lowe's store, on arrival of BC-1 he reported a 1 story 60 X 120 factory with heavy fire conditions and requested a 2nd alarm followed by the 3rd alarm a few minutes later and advised all companies that this would be a defensive attack. The building housed National Surtrex Corp, a supplier of medical and safety disposal apparel, L-3 set up in front on the building, L-2 (using a spare) set up in the rear and L-1 was positioned in the Lowe's parking lot, co's stretched multiple 2-1/2" hand lines as heavy fire was showing on the B & D sides of the building and thru the roof towards the rear of the building. After almost 90 minutes with the majority of the fire knocked down and companies appeared to be making good headway, heavy smoke began pushing from the front of the building followed by heavy fire. L-1 was relocated to the front of the building and placed into operation and a collapse zone was set up as most of the roof collapsed. The fire was eventually declared under control at approximately 12:25 but companies remained on the scene for another 5 hours for overhaul and investigation. Several FF's were injured and transported to St. Joe's Hospital, none seriously.

New Haven 2nd Alarm 133 Stiles St. Tire Center : 03/19/12 New Haven, CT - New Haven, CT - A late night fire tore through a large one story corrugated steel building known as the tire center. Workers on nearby I-95 were the first to spot the blaze. Engine Co. 5 arrived shortly after reporting a one story commercial fully involved. A second alarm was transmitted as companies prepared for a defensive attack. An additional tower ladder was also special called to the box. Multiple hand lines and three trucks worked for an hour to bring under control and totally destroyed the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

2006 Eaton County Fire School : The 2006 Eaton county fire academy was hosted by Windsor Township Emergency Services and had instructors from several Eaton county fire departments, including Grand Ledge, Hamlin, Eaton Rapids, and Windsor township. A training house was used for much of the hands on portion of the academy. The students learned fire behavior, ladder techniques, basic first aid, search and rescue, SCBA and gear use, among other things.

Somers, Ct General alarm : Somers, Ct was dispatched to Rt. 83 & Rt. 190 on 1/1/12 about 2335 hours for smoke in the area. On arrival they reported a working fire in a church. The main church collapsed about 30 minutes into the incident. There was extension into the large rear addition of the building but members made the stop before it took complete control of that section. They also were able to keep the fire from spreading into the D side exposure. Mutual aid from West Stafford, Ellington, Crystal Lake, Hazardville and Shaker Pines fire dept.'s assisted at the scene.

Newington, Ct 2nd alarm : Newington, Ct responded to this 2 alarm fire at 85 Woodsedge Drive on 12/31/11 @1415 hours. On arrival they had fire on floor # 1 quickly extending to floor's 2&3 of this 3 story wood frame/brick venear apartment building. Mutual aid from Berlin, Cromwell and Wethersfield assisted at the scene.

Glastonbury, Ct 2nd alarm : Glastonbury, Ct. responded to 172 Natchaug Dr. on 11/2/11 @0015 hours for this 2nd alarm. Fire was through the roof on arrival. Due to the recent winter storm a tanker shuttle had to be set up because the hyrdant pump station was not working properly. Also there were many trees and wires down in the area which made access difficult.
