IRELAND: Dublin area 18-20 December 1989 : My first trip to Southern Ireland (with the railways as a focus, anyhow), travelling via Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire. A frosty couple of days, but a worthwhile and friendly visit; I enjoy it so much, I decide to make further visits when it might be warmer. I did just that, several times, and it rained most of the time.... I spend most of the three days alternating between Dublin Connolly and Dublin Heuston (by bus), but manage to fit in a few short local trips. The outcome being as follows:- DAY 1 (18th December): Dun Laoghaire, Dublin Connolly, Dublin Heuston. DAY 2 (19th December): Dublin Connolly, Harmonstown, Dublin Connolly, Dublin Heuston, Kildare, Dublin Heuston. DAY 3 (20th December): Dublin Heuston, Dublin Connolly, Maynooth, Dublin Connolly, Balbriggan, Howth Junction, Dublin Connolly, Bray Daly, Howth, Dublin Connolly, Dublin Heuston, Dublin Connolly, Dun Laoghaire.
