2013 Gyeongju - Pulguksa & Seokguram : Pulguksa is located in the hills on the outskirts of Gyeongju. It was originally constructed in the 8th century. It is considered a masteriece of Buddhist architecture and is listed as Historic Site # 1 in Korea. 
Seokguram is a hermitage that is part of the Pulguksa temple complex. Located a few kilometers up the hill from the main temple, it is most well known for its grotto which contains a marvelous stone statue of the Buddha.
However, one is not allowed to photograph the statue, so no picture here.
Pulguksa and Seokguram together are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

2013 Gyeongju : Gyeongju, about one hour north of Busan by bus, was the capital of the Silla Kingdom for nearly 1,000 years (57BC~935AD). A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city and surrounding area is packed with archeological and cultural sites. This album contains photos of the Royal Tombs found in the central part of the city; Cheomseongdae, the oldest remaining astronomical observatory in East Asia; Lotus fields; A couple of shots from the Gyeongju National Museum, which was mostly closed for remodeling!; The Pavillions and pond of Anapji; Some wild critters; and Gyeongju-hyanggyo, a Confucian School; all of which is located in the central part of the city.

Jared-HyonGyeong Hoffman Wedding : On Saturday, April 23, 2011, US Army Major Jared Hoffman married his secretary, Ms. Lee Hyon-Gyeong at the Korea House (한국의집) in downtown Seoul.  His mother and cousin along with some close friends flew to Korea from the US especially for the occasion.  Major Hoffman was also the current Grand Master of the (in)famous Seoul Hash House Harriers, who also participated, including "flouring" their GM has he left his bachelorhood.

Chuncheon, South Korea : About an hour and 45 minutes by train northeast of Seoul, the city of Chuncheon has become especially well-known since appearing in the tremendously popular Korean drama "Winter Sonata". These photos show the Soyang Dam area just outside of the city, plus the boat ride and walk to Cheongpyeong-sa (temple). Finally, after returning to town, a tasty dinner of "Dakgalbi", which is marinated bite-size chicken pieces and assorted veggies cooked on an iron plate at the table. "Mashi Issoyo!" in Korean means it tastes good, and it does! Chuncheon is famous for its Dakgalbi.

Icheon : The city of Icheon is located just a bit south of Seoul. It is one of the main centers of the Korean ceramic industry. These photos begin at Solbong Park, which among other things includes a small art museum and a museum featuring the city of Icheon. After that comes photos from the Icheon Ceramics Village.
