Taffy II Feb 20-June 19, 2008 : Since the day we put Taffy I to sleep Kim has wanted another dog. I had to put him out of his misery and bought him another Bichon for his birthday this year, 2008. When I asked him what her name was going to be he without hesitation replied: "Taffy II". Isn't it obvious to one and all?

Aesculap 2008 Neurosurgical Advisory Group Meeting at Big Sky Montana : This was the 2008 meeting held in the USA in Big Sky, Montana. Unfortunately, Kim was still recovering from the flu that we all had at Christmas so we pretty much stayed indoors and went to bed early therefore missing the dinners and the snowmobile excursion into Yellowstone with the group.

Great Grandpa's 80th Birthday : We went over to see Great grandpa for his 80th birthday. Jotham, Ruth and kids stayed until the little ones got antsy and then Kim and I took Dad to Applebee's for dinner where the staff serenaded him. We are lucky to have had Dad around for so many years. Happy Birthday, Grandpa! We also went over to see Grandma Dolores. She loved seeing the kids.

Jotham's 26th Birthday : We celebrated Jotham's 26th birthday a little early (on the 7th instead of the 12th). We went to Benihamas Tempanyaki and Sushi and then went bowling afterwards. It was a fun night! While we were bowling, Chad's sister, Elizabeth delivered her twins, Leah and Logan MacAskill. Definately a night to remember!

Fourth of July 2006 : This fourth of July we spent with Ruth, Jotham and Mason. Dan, Chad's law school friend and fellow BAR study buddy came too. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy outside but that didn't stop us from lighting fireworks, BBQing and having a good time!

October Fest 2006 : October Fest at Snowbird Ski resort above Salt Lake City! Chad and I went with Jotham, Ruth, and Mason to partake of this traditional German Festival. Jotham is wearing a traditional Austrian hat. You may say he is connecting with his roots! Go Das Germans! Here in Utah, we've been having some pretty cold weather and there was snow on the ground up the Canyon! The leaves haven't even fully changed yet! It's not even October yet! Crazy! But it was a really fun time. We ate Bratwurst and apple strudle and enjoyed great entertainment by some Yodelers wearing Laderhoisen!

Hike! June 21, 2006 : Preston, Emily, and kids came into town to visit and we all got together for a BBQ. Afterwards, Ruth, Jotham, Preston and I decided to go hiking and we hiked STRAIGHT up the mountain behind the house. We frequently lost the trail, finding ourselves scrambling through bushes, slipping on loose shale, and blazing our own trail, per se. An hour and a half up, we reached the saddle where Ruth, Mason and I stayed behind while Preston and Jotham continued up in effort to find an abandoned mine. It was quite an adventure...one we probably won't repeat. Some of the details of the trip are too...scary...to reveal here. The Best Trooper Award definately goes to Mason! But the effort was well worth the georgeous view overlooking Provo, Orem, and Utah lake.
