October 2008 Tioga Pass : October 10, 2008 We woke up to strong winds and below freezing temperatures, but clear skies. We headed up Tioga Pass and on to our destination, the vally in Yosemite National Park. Tioga pass was pretty, but very cold and windy, we had crossed it on our way to the Sierra's just a few days before when it was still and warm.....we should have stopped to take our photos then.

Glacier Peaks and Rivers : A late afternoon drive to one of the lookout points along the Going to the Sun road let me catch stunning colors set off by the long rays of a falling sun. The contrast of freshly powdered mountain tops and foliage right at the peak of their annual color change was delightful.

The Trail of Cedars & Polebridge : On the first day of my recent visit to Glacier National Park it rained quite a bit, though not a hard pouring rain - it was more of a steady gentle shower most of the day. I had to shield my camera under my raincoat as best I could. Nonetheless the light seemed just right for taking some interesting shots along the Trail of the Cedars, Fish Creek and in Polebridge, MT.

Grand Canyon National Park: North Rim - June 1-2, 2008 : The final stop on the tour with my cousins was at the Grand Canyon. Almost 4 years to the day since I was last there on the opposite side hiking down to meet the rafts. This trip took us to the North Rim, where there was still snow on the ground. We hiked through burned forest, and had pizza and beer on the lodge terrace.
