Arches NP - May 22-23, 2009 : One advantage of going to Moab when it is overcast and rainy is that it is cooler. However the photos aren't as great. Still, we had a great time.

Mesa Verde NP - May 24-25, 2009 : I spent a little more than two days in Mesa Verde National Park. The weather wasn't so great the first day and we ended up setting up camp in the rain. Oh, and they had lost our reservation at the campground too! Anyway, it turned out to be a wonderful stay and we had a lot of fun.

Valley Forge National Historic Park : Twice a month I volunteer at Valley Forge National Historic Park as a historic interpreter. Basically, that amounts to me dressing up in a Colonial outfit and telling people about the history surrounding the encampment that took place there in 1777-1778. It's a lot of fun but some days it is rather slow while on others we seems to have a steady stream of visitors. I do enjoy bringing my camera with me and taking pictures during the quieter times.

UPDATE: The area around Washington's HQ is scheduled to be reopened to the public on Memorial Day Weekend. On May 10, volunteers were given a walkthrough of the area and quite a lot of changes had been made: a new parking lot was put in and the train station has been completely renovated. We didn't get to go inside Headquarters but from the outside it sure looked nice.
