Cade's Cove, Tn on Nov. 7, 2011 : This was the first full day in Gatlinburg after leaving Rock Hill, SC on November 6, 2011. We decided to go to Cades Cove. There were dreams of another bear/s, but alas..............too many tourists there. However, there we many, many photo-ops. One of the plans of the trip was to take existing light interiors shots of the churches. The haze, was fairly strong within the park and kept us from getting rich colored shots of the surrounding mountains, but were adorned per their name. http://www.cadescove.net/auto_tour.html ; http://www.cadescove.net/hiking_cades_cove.html I took both camera bodies, Sony A900 and the new A77. The two lenses were the Sony 'G' series 70-400 and the Carl Zeiss 24-70/2.8.

Roaring Fork Bypass, TN - My Bears June, '08 : My wife and her friend, Brenda, had been up on the bypass on Roaring Fork, part of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park earlier in the day, and they had seen what they were certain, a male bear feeding. The day before we had come upon a bear feeding on a deer in Cades Cove, but I thought it was too gruesome to shoot. Judy and I decided to try the Bypass one more time late in the afternoon. We came upon a mother bear and two cubs. Mesmerized, I suddenly realized I was right in the dense woods with the bears. I was too concentrated on camera settings and trying to keep up with their movement. It was late in the afternoon and dark, very dark in the shadows of the canopy of the woods. I had finally worked the ISO up to 3200 and still barely had the shutterspeed to cope with the bear's movement.

Tennessee, Great Smoky Mountains 2007- 美国，田纳西， 大烟雾山国家公园，2007 : In the end of April and beginning of May, 2007, we had two weeks travel and vacation in Shenandoah National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Plan was to drive through and photograph Skyline Drive of Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway to Great Smoky Mountains. We completed Skyline Drive and on the halfway of Blue Ridge Parkway. We had to give up Blue Ridge Parkway due to the weather. We stayed in a rental cottage for a week in Gatlinburg.
