Night Vision : I was once told by another photographer that the secret to photography was the ability to see the light! In my quest to "see the light", I have found that one of my favorite times to see the light is after it is dark! Funny how that works. Enjoy!

Twin Peaks at night - 9/08/2007 : Taken from the summit of Twin Peaks in San Francisco, California.

It was seriously foggy the night we went up there. I spent the majority of the time taking the 77-shot long exposure pano, which didn't turn out as well as I had liked. One of these days I'd like to find some better pano software than Autostitch.

Town Lake at night - 9/03/2007 : Taken on the shore of Town Lake in Austin, Texas.

I ran outside my apartment one evening on account of what sounded like an artillery bombardment only to find there were fireworks being set off across the lake. By the time I reemerged with camera and tripod, I had just enough time to brutally overexpose single shot before it was over.

I was in the process of heading back inside when I realized what an amazing night it was. The air was very thick and nothing was moving. The reflections from across the lake were almost perfect in the water. I'm glad I took the time to stick around to crank out a few shots.

Dallas Skyline - 8/03/2007 : Taken at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.

So we had a pretty nice view of downtown Dallas from the window of our hotel room at QuakeCon. Late one night, I decided to take some long exposures out the window. The lesson learned from this one is it can't just be dark in the room if you're taking long exposures out a window, it has to be PITCH BLACK. Reflections in the window plagued this set and while they turned out aight, I could have done better!

Cesar Chavez St. - 7/31/2007 : Taken on Cesar Chavez Street in downtown Austin, Texas.

I was on my way home from work one evening and I just happened to have my camera with me that day. Halfway through downtown, I decided to stop and take some shots along the side of the road. The last two are HDR. Can't seem to stay away from that blasted HDR!

Late Night Swimming 7/29/2008 : Taken at the local swimming hole in Austin, Texas.

What kind of idiot brings a tripod into a swimming pool in order to take long exposures after midnight? Well, now you know.

Panhandlin' Nights : Shooting after sundown is one of my favorite things in the world to do. Exposures range from a few seconds to several minutes and the results can be dreamy.
