Eagle Creek - 6/20/09 : The Intel hiking club did a 12-mile hike along Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge on June 20, all the way up to Tunnel Falls. It was a long hike, with about 1600 feet of elevation gain, but the waterfalls were worth it.

Portland International Rose Test Garden : We visited Portland's International Rose Test Garden today. I think we were about a week late for the peak blooms, but I got a few good shots.

Here's what <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Rose_Test_Garden">Wikipedia</a> has to say about the garden:
"There are over 7,000 rose plants of approximately 550 varieties. The roses bloom from April through October with the peak coming in June, depending on the weather. New rose cultivars are continually sent to the garden from many parts of the world and are tested for color, fragrance, disease resistance and other attributes. It is the oldest continuously operating public rose test garden in the United States and exemplifies Portland's nickname of the City of Roses."
