This is a very popular hike along the Columbia River Gorge.  To get here, you will get wet ~ there's a waist-deep stream you have to walk up inside the slot canyon.  But the hard part is actually getting the place to yourself...
 > Wallowa Barn

This barn sits along highway 82 north of the Wallowa Mountains, in northeast Oregon.
 > Oregon Trail

Outside of Baker City, OR, this replica wagon sits on the actual Oregon Trail.  To get here we hiked about half a mile on the actual trail.  It was so thought provoking, thinking of the tens of thousands that had walked the same path years ago...
 > Painted Hills

These Painted Hills are part of the John Day Fossil Beds, near Mitchel, OR.  The are the result of past volcanic eruptions of ash and more recent erosion.
 > Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel

This chapel, from Elvis' movie Charro, is just outside of Apache Junction, near Mesa, AZ.  This photo won 2nd place in the 2007 Costco National Photo Contest.
 > River Rocks

These rocks are along the McKenzie River.
 > Discovery Lighthouse

The Discovery Point Lighthouse, in Discovery Park, Seattle.  I've spent countless hours hiking around this park.  I even proposed to my wife right behind the light, on the beach!
 > Sunset Lighthouse

This is the North Head lighthouse at Cape Disappointment, WA. I sat here for about an hour waiting for the sun to set.  I kept moving across the hill to keep the lighthouse and sun framed correctly.
