 > This is what greeted us when we emerged into the upper meadow. It's almost a carpet of Arrowleaf Balsamroot. and yes, it really is this steep. Thank goodness for switchbacks.
 > This is the view we saw about halfway up Dog Mountain when we first emerged from the forest. The yellow cast to the meadows at the top is caused by the fact that they're full of Arrowleaf Balsamroot, the same flower you see in the foreground of this shot.
