St Nicholas Coal Breaker : The Old St. Nicholas Coal Breaker, located just outside of Mahanoy City, was constructed in 1930 and began operating in 1932. When the breaker was constructed it was divided into two sides. Each side could be operated independently, producing 12,500 tons of coal a day. Once the raw coal enters the production process within the breaker it took just 12 minutes to pass through the entire breaker. For 31 years, the Old St. Nicholas Breaker prepared all sizes of famous Reading Anthracite for the markets of the world.

The Brambles Apartment : I need a reason to replace my 18-55mm kitlens with Canon's newest 15-85mm so I went out and walked around my apartment to take some random pictures. Here are some of those that I took.

Morgan Log House : Recently I had a chance to travel back in time by visiting the Morgan Log House in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. This house has been lovingly restored and is an excellent example of how early settlers in eastern Pennsylvania lived.

Edward and Elizabeth Morgan, who owned the house in the early 1700's were one of earliest settlers in the area. Among their descendants are Daniel Boone, the Revolutionary War Brigadier General, Daniel Morgan, and journalist/broadcaster Lowell Thomas.

So if you want to see how folks lived in the "good old days" stop in at the Morgan Log House!
