This freight car which is a memorial to all those who perished in the Holocaust, is seen next to the infamous unloading platform at Birkenau extermination camp. I cannot even imagine the suffering people endured, my heart felt condolence to all.
PKP ET22-615 Co Co locomotive built in 1971 is seen about to depart Krakow Plaszow. The driver can just be seen at the the rear bogie doing checks. No High Vis vests in sight!!.
PKP EP09-030 passenger locomotive at Krakow Plaszow, built 1986 a relative youngster in Polish railway terms. Not well liked by train crew & not that reliable. PKP have had major problems with bogies & traction motor defects, & it is said no two locomotives are the same, with constant design changes whilst in production!!.
PKP Ty51-9 is seen at Krakow Plaszow yard. Built in 1954 for hauling heavy freight she was one of 232 built.
PKP TKw2-57 needs a little love & attention to get her going, seen here outside the roundhouse at Krakow Plaszow. This locomotive built in 1919 was one of 1200 in traffic.
