> Container ship crossing
Only in Panama will you have to stop on a road to let giant container ships cross!
 > Lake Gatun
Lake Gatun, the artificial fresh water body linking through locks the Pacific with the Atlantic Oceans, offers a sureal view of large sea vessels crossing in a tropical central american landscape.

 > Gatun Locks
When arriving in Panama from the Atlantic side, ships that want to cross the Panama Canal have to go through the Gatun's Lock as shown in this picture.
 > Storm in the Yucatan Pass
On July 4th, we encountered a tropical storm while sailing through the Yucatan Straight (between the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba). This storm became a hurrican in the Gulf of Mexico, so we were really lucky. Seconds after this shot I was soaked in sea water, luckily my camera was not!
 > Sunset on a Seismic vessel
Beautiful sunset in the Gulf of Mexico. An industry seismic vessel is seen on the lower right corner.
 > The JOIDES Resolution
The JOIDES Resolution is a drilling vessel operated by the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program. It's mission is to study Earth's history and the structure or our planet. This shot shows the JR drilling in the Gulf of Mexico during Expedition 308, and it was shot from a rubber boat.
 > Sunset
Some days in the Gulf the sky was heavy with storm clouds, but at sunset light would suddenly perk out from the clouds and cover the horizon with fantastic colors.
 > Catwalk
The part of the vessel shown here is called the catwalk. This is where cores are being cut and later on brought to the labs for analysis.
