Rochester is an old city, there are many old stone buildings scattered through out. This appears to have been a stone grain silo that was part of a farm on the east side of the city. It's now mostly soccer fields and baseball diamonds.
St. Francis of Assisi convent; a 3-story Italian Romanesque building atop Assisi Heights, is home to the sisters of St. Francis. The structure bears a striking resemblance to the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Italy. The convent has a unique red tile roof, slate floors, a Romanesque ceiling, and beautiful hand-blown stained glass windows from Germany.
