Sestri Levante - The "Leudo" sailboat : The "leudo", a typical ligurian sailboat. This type of boat was used to trade with Corsica and Sardinia. It was good at sea, but small enough to be pulled on the beach, as in Liguria there weren't many ports well protected by seastorms. These photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 7900 in 2005. Il leudo, una tipica imbarcazione ligure, fotografato sulla spiaggia di Sestri Levante. I leudi erano usati per commerciare con la Corsica e la Sardegna e anche per il trasporto di sabbia per costruzioni.
