Boulder Cyclocross Series 2009 Boulder Resevoir 10-25 Men's Open : A cold, windy and overcast day in late October with the snow just beginning fall as a front moved through. The intermittently wet conditions limited your faithful photographer's opportunities to snap photos because of the risk to equipment. Luckily, I had my trusty waterproof pocket camera along to supplement my DSLR during the heaviest snow fall, but photography was still a challenge due to snow sticking to the lens. These brisk conditions combined with extensive sandy stretches along the reservoir to provide a challenging day for CX racing.

Boulder Cyclocross Series 2009 Xlink 11-15 Men's Open Race : An Epic day. Snow fell during the night before the race, resulting in some very muddy sections over a rolling combination of forest, open fields and slick pavement. Temperatures hovering around freezing with overcast for most of the day required an heroic effort from the participants. The greasy mud led to an unusually high number of crashes, placing a premium on consistent bike handling skills. A great day of CX racing!
