Catania (Sicily) Via dei Crociferi : Via dei Crociferi in Catania is one of the best examples of the Baroque re-edification which took place in south-eastern Sicily in the aftermaths of a major earthquake in 1693.

I have been really impressed by the mix of ancient grandeur and what seems to an occasional traveller like me like neglect: I'd guess the street plays the road of second violin to the commercial bourgeois heart of the city of Catania, the parallel Via Etnea. I am too ignorant of what stays behind to say more about this, but the fascination of Via Crociferi is not to be underestimated, especially considering that at the end of the road you can find the daedalus of roads where the Fish Market (Mercato del Pesce) takes place.

The first ten pictures are taken in the immediate surroundings (mainly Piazza Stesicoro and roads connecting Via Etnea and Via dei Crociferi).

People in Camden - London : Street scenes from some back alleys in Camden - London (and a pair of them from the main street as well).

I am trying to improve here in capturing the contrast in between the background and the very different characters you can spot around.
The touristic side of Camden is somehow of no interest to me.

I like the idea of having in the same gallery both a cart and a sport car, with their picture taken just meters apart.

Marzamemi (Sicily) : Marzamemi is a small village, off the beaten track, not far from Pachino, in the southern most tip of Sicily. The village grew around its Tonneria (cannery) and is part of a Sicilian Tonneria and Fisherman Village" Route. Its main square provided the location for Gabriele Salvatores's "Sud".

Ecuador Streets (Jun 09) : In Quito, Guayaquil and everywhere else I could wander, I took a bunch of photos of people doing what they do. The parks and the streets were full of people, and with limited time I got some nice shots. If I had the time, I woulda spent the day in each city just wandering those parks. This is far more shots that I usually try to put in these galleries, but there were so many that I really liked, I had to include more.
