The apes are still resident, and have lived there longer than most Gibraltarian families. There is a social order among the ape tribes, as well as ape rituals that are bizarre enough to be human. Ape corpses and skeletons are never found on the Rock. Somewhere in the recesses of this rock that looks like a mountain range there is said to be a secret mortuary established by the apes; ape funerals, ape mourning, ape burials. The apes are well established, but disadvantaged -- unemployed, unwaged, destitute welfare recipients. The municipal government allocates money to feed them. But there might be a darker motive in this food aid. The Bridges of Frederick County : Northern Frederick County in Maryland, U.S. is home to three historic covered bridges. The Utica Mills, Loy’s Station, and Roddy Road covered bridges are all located in northern Frederick County,within twelve miles of one another. Besides their beauty, and the beauty of their surroundings, the bridges are also structurally interesting, as all three have a different truss systems (which is what keeps a bridge standing). The Roddy Road, Loys Station, and Utica Bridges are three of only eight remaining covered bridges in the state of Maryland. At least 52 such structures once graced the landscape of the state; but storms, fires, and progress have claimed almost all of them. The three bridges provide a good comparative study of wood bridge truss techniques, as each displays a different truss design. The Loys Station Bridge is significant as a multiple king post structure.
