Muir Headlands, San Francisco Area : On the Marin Co. side of the Golden Gate Bridge, just after crossing, exit left into a parking lot and walk the trail (full of mushrooms!) down to the beach. The walk is beautiful, filled with smells of pines, and through picnic and camp sites. The first of these pictures was taken from the trail, the last two from the parking lot, the rest from the beach. We hit a beautiful, clear and warm day during Christmas 2008.

Monument Valley : These photos are of Monument & Mystery Valley. Mystery is accessible only by guide, as are parts of Monument. The red dust was invasive. Some peoples cameras stopped working. I used my G2 with a lensmate and filter. Without it the camera probably would have been ruined. My Tilley never completely recovered. At that time memory was almost a dollar a meg - I did not shoot the largest files. Many photos have been cropped. Most levels were not touched. Color and saturation were left alone.

Bryce Canyon : We took a southwest vacation in 2003. At that time I had the Canon G2. Memory was also very expensive back then, so I did not shoot large files. The camera had focus issues in low light (dawn), so all my sunrise shots were NFG. I've cropped many of these and adjusted levels. I have not adjusted color or saturation.

Joshua Tree | Feb 09 : Weekend trip to Joshua Tree National Park. It was very cold at times, and we stayed in a warm hotel in 29 Palms. We drove the Geology Tour road, hiked Ryan Mountain, watched the sunset from Keys View and hiked to 49 Palms oasis. Here are some of the best photos from the trip, enjoy!

Jordan : Jordon, the most moderate Arab state is full of color and history. Unlike what most Western Media and governments reports. It is relatively safe and people are friendly.

Maui Hawaii Pacific Ocean : So many beautiful words have been said about Hawaii. So here as one picture tells a thousand words, is a whole book in five hundred pictures. Follow the journey from landing over Honolulu Owahu onto island hopping to Maui with a big colorful flying bird. We lived in a small suite with a Lanai and private BBQ We went to the "Little Makena beach" every day.. It's a clothing optional beach so we spare you the detailed shots and keep it to the sunsets and some general scenes. But let me tell you if you want to feel free, happy, natural, totally relaxed in a real nature oriented mixed crowd this is the place. The coral reef are visited by humongus amounts of fish 20m from the beach and the occasional tortoises, dolphins or seal. The Makena cloud coming down every day from the Volcano reminds you it is there and makes stunning patterns against the sun. A trip to the lush and green Hana on the other side of the island is part of the stay. A three hours "non stop" curved road thakes you there. Be patient stop a lot do NOT attempt to overtake as the road is not made for that. One mistake and the cliffs are an average of 1000feet down to the sea. Hana is gorgeous do not miss walking up to the waterfall long a path in Bamboo forests and other exotic trees. If you can stay a night there as one day is not enough to do it all if one needs to drive home. I must say the night drive I felt more safe as at least one could see the cars coming from the opposite direction with their headlights on. In the daytime the curves are always full of surprises. We steared clear of the main town we only visited on the day of departure. Cute full of shopping of all the "necessary unnecessary" souvenirs from 1 $ to 50.000 $ for all tastes. I enjoyed most the Art Gallery of Lassen and bought the book as the Art is unaffordable. Try not to miss it. He favors to play with creatures of the sea Whales Dolphins fish coral and sunlight and some fluo paint that makes the painting glow at night ...quite extra ordinary. Mahalo.
