Red Liners 4TH Year Anniversary Ward Park April 21, 2012 : Who Dat Who Dat, its Grandmoma yelling from the back end of the shotgun house wanting to know who knocking on the screen doe. If you know what I'm talking about say amen and meet me at New Hope First Baptist Church next Saturday with Grandma. The Redliners had their 4th Annual Anniversary picnic Saturday at Ward Park in Greenville Mississippi. Folk came from all over the Delta to include Arkansas. Big Welcome to all the Folk In Arkansas Law Enforcement that took time off to wax up their bikes and come all the way from Pine Bluff and Little Rock to party with Country Folk. I had fun! The fellowship, mellow atmosphere and plenty of kids made for a fun day for all. I heard good stories about the charity ride held earlier this morning to benefit disadvantaged children. Keep it up RedLiners. Sorry I couldn't stay long for the Party at the Budwieser Building but I enjoyed my time there. Semper Fi to all the Marines Soldiers Sailors and Airmane I had the honour to come in contact with last night. You Old Timers Still look good and can probably shoot straight. If you are a member of a biker organization regardless of the color of your skin and you are having a rally please contact me so that I can look at making arrangements to photograph your event. In the Phillipines we used to Ride Honda's and Kowasaki's, it was good to see the tradition still lives on in fast and touring bikes, that 36 years ago. To all the ladies that road in on your bikes, Keep Looking Good. Thanks to everybody, I had fun.

Greenville Mississippi Mayor and City Council Inauguration : It's official, Heathers out and Chuck Jordan is the New Mayor of Greenville Mississippi. When Heather was sworn in 8years ago I was there and so was Bill Johnson a photographer from the Delta Democrat Times. Just like before people came out to wish the in coming Mayor the best and give thanks to the out going Mayor for her service. A lot of the faces were new today and the old stanby group sat steadfast in their support of their candidates that sat waiting patiently for their turn to speak from the podium. Their was Lois Hawkins (My Church Member) and Reverend Tommy Benson that won City Coucil seats. Betty Waktkins and Derrick Simmons were resworn into their City Coucil Seats. Long time Political Activist and City Council Members Ann Hollowell and Carolyn Weathers were on hand to wish the incoming council people the best and give words of wisdom as they took the oath of office. Dr LV Martin was Present and Judge Lesslie King was on hand to officiate the ceremony. This morning's activities showed promise for the future. Like Reverend Benson said we only have one Greenville.

AKA's CELEBRATE A 104 YEARS OF SISTERHOOD AT NEW HOPE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH APRIL 14, 2012 : As always, to be in the presence of Pink and Green is a joy. For many years I've known AKA's on three continents and have never tired of the fellowship that comes with knowing them. Today AKA Sisters from all over the state of Mississippi gathered at New Hope First Baptist Church to honour their own and celebrate the legacy of a 104 Years of Sisterhood. All Greek Organizations in this area came out to show their support and honour the AKA's for their many contributions to the community. This program not only showcased local leadership but celebrated organisations that lead the way in community action throughout the Delta. I saw many educators, doctors, military personnel, college students, television personalities, retired professionals and a host of young women dreaming about the day when they can become part of the Pink and Green. During the presentation A presenter looked very familiar to me but I could not place her face. After racking my brain I finally realized that I had bumped into one of my College Professors that I had not seen in 30 years. The Lizzie Coleman Middle School Choir was on hand to help celebrate the AKA's, they did a great job with all of their selections. Former Mayor of Greenville Heather McTeer Hudson was the guest speaker for this event. She spoke on the subject of Kingdom Building of Sisterhood and how African American Women Lead the way internationally in women issues. She also spoke on the disparity of income between men and women doing the same job right here in the Delta. As a photographer I think this photo opportunity was well worth the investment in time. I do look forward to using some of the these images someday as part of an exhibition. To the AKA's that do not know, eventually all of the images I've taken of you over the years will be housed at the Margaret Walker Alexander National Research Center located on the Campus of Jackson State University. If you have personal images you would like to become a part of their permanent collection contact Angela Stewart at 601-979-2460. Mrs Bell thank you so much for enviting me to be a part of this wonderful celebration.

The Color Purple : There's no place like home. Greenville Actors led by Director Margaret Carey McCray staged The Color Purple Dress Rehearsal on Wensday Night. Stella performances were the norm in this production. The characters came alive with each movement and the music was flawless. The audience ranged from six years old to 80 and all through the performance the range of emotion in the audience said one thing, Great Work. As a photographer you can see that I was totally into this production. I haven't had time to edit everything so if you see a glitch or two don't hold it against me I just had to share these with you. I applaud Greenville and the surrounding communities for supporting all of the fantastic productions put on at Bass Auditorium by people who enjoy the theater and practicing the Craft of Acting. You can be sure some of these small time players someday will grace the big screen regularly. Thanks to the entire Cast, NO ONE HAD MORE FUN THAN I DID.

Harty Park in Greenville Mississippi March 25, 2012 : Hardy Park in Greenville Mississippi on Sunday Afternoon after Church. Hardy Park is small town America a place where teenagers like to congregate and be seen. Most of these images are of children I've had the privilege to Teach in the Greenville Public School System at some point in their eduction career. This is my first walk in the park with my camera this year, I think I'll take many more walks this summer to document the future leaders of the State of Mississippi.
