Mt. Rainier Favorites : These show the moods of the mountain. The images with the snag in the foreground were at sunset after 3 days of rain. The air was very clear. Much of the time there is a haze that is not attractive.

Fall Color : Images in this gallery are from my fall color viewing trips to Eastern Washington. This gallery has twin purposes - to showcase the incredible fall color we have in this state, notwithstanding her evergreen reputation, and to provide other photographers / leaf-peepers with ideas on where to shoot/view fall foliage in WA state. Accordingly, I will attempt to identify all photos with location tags as accurately as possible. Based on my travels, here's a collection of some of the fall color hotspots in this state: (a) along SR-20 to Winthrop (past Washington Pass), (b) Patterson Lake area in Winthrop, (c) Winthrop to Twisp along SR-20 (consider this detour: take the Twin Lakes loop road from Winthrop which will drop you back onto SR-20), (d) in Twisp, take Twisp River road to the end and explore the several side roads along the way, especially Poorman Creek road, (e) SR-153 from Twisp to Pateros, (f) Yakima River Canyon road (SR-821) from Ellensburg to Yakima, especially the Umptanum Creek area, (g) Tumwater Canyon along Hwy. 2 from Coles Corner to Leavenworth, and (h) FS 9712 (to Haney Meadows), accessed from Blewett pass, via FS 9716.

Lake Goodwin Sunrise Photos : When the sun rises on the lake it may not always stay around long. Sometimes, you only have a short time to "capture it" with your camera before it changes or clouds over. The majority of the photos in this gallery were taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ35 superzoom digital camera using the Program Mode.

Lake Goodwin is a beautiful body of water covering 535 acres, with 5.4 miles of shoreline, located in Snohomish County, Washington. It is in the Seven Lakes area northwest of Marysville, with Wenberg County Park providing access. Lake Goodwin is the largest and most popular lake of the Seven Lakes community. Rainbow Trout, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Bluegill, and Pumpkinseed Sunfish can be found in the lake. Ducks, Cormorants, Blue Heron, Lake Otters, Racoons, Rabbits, Deer, and other wildlife live around the lake. Seagulls, Bald Eagles, and other birds can be seen from time to time in the sky above. Except for "summer water sports" and the annual July 4th. boat parade/fireworks, Lake Goodwin remains a quiet and peaceful place.
