Rinca Island : Rinca Island is part of the Komodo National Park and sports a Komodo Dragon population as well. Actually the Dragons seem to hang up at the pier on a regular basis, making Rinca a safer bet for Dragon sightings than Komodo.
The most dangerous encounter we had on Rinca was actually not a Komodo Dragon (even though we saw at least half a dozen Dragons there), but a young spitting cobra.

Komodo Island : Komodo Island is one of the few islands at which the Komodo Dragon can be found. The Komodo Dragon is the largest living lizard in the world, with an average length of 6 to 10 feet and an average weight of 150 lbs. Komodo Dragons are carrion eaters - even though they often take a fairly active role in the demise of their prey. The saliva of a Komodo Dragon contains over 50 different strains of bacteria - once bitten the ensuing sepsis kills the victims within a week...
Komdo Dragons are hard to spot - we were very lucky to encounter a fully grown male who was in the process of eating some unlucky fowl. Apart from the Dragon, we also saw a colony of flying foxes swarming out at dusk.

Game at Stanley's : Stanley's Camp was really nice - my only gripe with it: no lion sighting in three days!!! Yet I was handsomely compensated with the leopard we saw on the 2nd day, right after she had killed a baboon and dragged it into her tree.

Game : My second destination was Ichingo Chobe River Lodge on Impalila Island on the Namibia side of the Chobe River. The Lodge was charming with perfect hospitality and the game viewing was great - done exclusively by boat from the Chobe River and the channels in the flood plains between the Chobe and the Zambezi.

Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi : On my first evening at the Victoria Falls - even before having set sight onto the Falls - I went on a suset cruise along the Zambezi river, upstream of the falls. The cruise was great - and I got my first sighting of a small elephant herd - first taking a drink and then crossing the river...
