Blue Jay, Cyanocitta cristata The arrival of the Blue Jay in our backyard is marked by two events. First is their loud and noisy squawking and second, they do not like to share the feeder and often will chase away other smaller birds.

What alligator?
Western Diamondback Rattlesnake View in XL or larger. While birding in Deadhorse Ranch State Park, AZ, we looked down and saw this Western Diamodback about 4 or 5 feet from where we were standing. It was coiled and never rattled. After our heartbeats returned to something near normal, I snapped a few shots before leaving the snake for "safer" birding. We were glad we saw the snake, because birding that day was very uneventful.
