One of the most exicting photo sessions of our trip to Kenya. Lake Navasha for the African Fishing Eagle. We loaded up in small boat and traveled to the other side of the lake. Soon coming upon eagles perched high up in the trees. The guide would then provide us with an oppurtunity to get an eagle flying in to grab a fish. Most of the times the eagle would get within 25-35 feet of us. Using a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom allow us to nail the shots most all the time.
Long-tailed Duck, Clangula hyemalis Tommy Thompson Park, better know as the Leslie Spit, is a haven for migrating birds. On the shore of Lake Ontario, many bird species, especially warblers and other songbirds, stop here to rest before moving on with their migration journey. In the winter months, one duck that can be seen in large numbers along the Lake is the Long-tailed Duck, formerly know as "Old Squaw." Along the west bank one can see them flying into and out of the marina bay.

Snowy Owl, Bubo scandiacus Frenchman's Bay is situated right off Lake Ontario in Pickering. The bay itself partially freezes over in the winter months. This year, a Snowy Owl took up residence in the area. Some days it was seen right on the bay, blending in with the snow and ice. Luckily, I was able to catch a glimpse of it on a beautiful and clear sunny day. An American Crow tried to scare off the Snowy Owl from its high perch on the tree but, the owl was simply not budging.
